1972 Mint Condition Danbury • SOLD
| For those of you looking for a nice looking, well restored, retro, early bay camper, your search is over. We sold this van when it was restored around three years ago, and in those three years it's remained exactly the same...lovely!
So, it's now come back on the market for one lucky owner-to-be and looking at the photos you'll see that it's been lovingly restored to a very high standard, inside and out. This van is 39 years old, and being an English right and drive, it had all the usual rust issues that campers of this type suffer from, but they were eliminated using all VW panels, including brand new doors. It was painted to a very high standard too, including under the dash, inside all doors, the entire front cab area, inside the wheel arches and the engine bay...that's what you call a proper paint job!
All the window and door seals were replaced, all rear interior units were restored and all the bed cushions have been re-upholstered, the curtains were replaced too. The cooker has been painted in the same colour as the van, a nice touch, and still has it's original sink.
Other work done during the restoration include: replacement of all brakes, installation of a new 1600cc Remtec engine, all tinware shot-blasted and repainted in the original satin black and all wiring restored to its original condition.
You really should come and see this van to get a close up view of just how much work has gone into restoring it and bringing it back to life. It comes with 12 month's MOT, 12 month's road tax (it's tax exempt), 3 month's parts and labour warranty, fully serviced and bucket-loads of coolness!
